It’s a massive achievement to say that over the  past 2 years we have seen more than 11,000  volunteers and 45,000 sailors taking part 

in this event in over 1000 different types of  boats, across 62 countries around the world, achieving a Guinness World Record in the process. 

2016 is a busy and very exciting year for sailing,  with the America’s Cup World Series and the 

Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place  in Rio this summer. Sadly this could be the last 

time we see sailing in the Paralympic schedule  as the decision has been made to remove it for 

Tokyo 2020. Bart’s Bash 2016 happens at the  same time as the Paralympic Closing ceremony .
