What Information Do We Collect When You Use Our Services?

Information Users Provide to Us

We collect information you provide to us, such as when you create an account, update your profile, use the interactive features of our Services, participate in contests, promotions or surveys, request customer support or otherwise communicate with us.

The types of information we may collect include:

Basic user information, such as your name, username, gender, birth date, email address, mailing address, billing address, phone number and photographs;

Messages and interactive forum information, such as discussion group posts, your photos-videos and comments, messages to other soSAILize users and information you provide in connection with activities and events;

Other background, contact and demographic information, such as your occupation, personal URL, IM username, emergency contact, home descriptions, sailing history and qualifications, other interests and self-descriptions you choose to provide;

Moreover, we store information about your profile settings, for example, notifications settings, settings of your photos/videos visibility, of allowing other users to comment on your photos/videos.

Information about you from other soSAILize users, such as trust ratings, friend connections, public references, and other interconnections and interactions between you and other soSAILize users.

When you use advanced options of the Website we collect financial information which is necessary to process payment method which you chose, for example, fact of payment, ordered services, way and time of payment.

Note that we do not store your bank card details. Nevertheless, our payment systems providers (eg Paypal) do store this information (and they must do it according to the Law).

Information We Collect Automatically

When you access or use our Services, we may also automatically collect information about you, including:

Location Information: We may collect (if you allow us) information about your location each time you access or use our mobile application or website, or otherwise consent to the collection of this information. For more information, please see “Your Information Choices” below.

Device Information: We collect device-specific information when you access our Services, including your hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information and information about the device’s interaction with our Services.

For example, if you create or log into your soSAILize account through a third-party social networking site, we will have access to certain information from that site, such as your name, profile picture, connections and other account information in accordance with the authorization procedures determined by such third-party social networking site.

Some of this information may be shared with other users, for example they may be able to see your connections who are also soSAILize users.

If you contact our support team we will get the information which you send us and we will also store the history of your communication with us.

We will keep a record of your correspondence with us including any complaints on other users which we get from you (or from other users on you).

How Do We Use this Information?

We use information about you for purposes described in this Privacy Policy or otherwise disclosed to you on or in connection with our Services.

For example, we may use information about you to:

Operate and improve our Services;

Protect the safety of soSAILize users and provide our verification service;

Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts and support and administrative messages;

Respond to your comments, questions and requests and provide customer service;

Communicate with you about products, services, offers, promotions, rewards and events and provide other news and information about soSAILize and other third parties;

What does Company do with extra information about me which I place on the website?

You can communicate with other users, and tell about yourself. Using the Website or App you should keep in mind that any published information will be available to users as well as to people who are not users of the Website/App.

We encourage you (and all our users) to think about the information which you disclose.

We do not recommend sharing email addresses, URL-addresses, messenger details, phone numbers, full names and addresses, bank card details, national identification numbers, driving license information and other information in your profile which is open for any kind of abuse.

Though you can provide this information of your own will (including sexual preferences) when you create a profile, there is no any obligation to do it.

When you post such information in your profile you are aware that you make this information publically available and give us your consent to process this information in compliance with this Privacy Policy.

Please remember that photos-videos which you post on the Website or in the App can disclose such delicate information.

If you indicate or upload any delicate information to the Website/App, you give your consent to processing this information and providing public access to it to other users.

If you publish anything that does not comply with our Terms we reserve the right to delete your account.

Transfers of Your Personal Information Abroad

soSAILize may store and process personal information in the United States and other countries, where under local laws you may have fewer legal rights.

However, wherever we store your information we will treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

soSAILize complies with the US-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the US-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework and has certified our adherence to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity, Access and Enforcement with respect to personal data collected from members in the EU and Switzerland.

Sharing of Information

We will not share information about you with outside parties except as described below or elsewhere in this Privacy Policy:

Social Media Tools

soSAILize may offer social sharing features or other integrated tools which let you or the other members/users share actions you take on our Services with other media, and vice versa, eg a member A shares a video of member B on a Facebook page etc.

The use of such features enables the sharing of certain information with your friends or the public, depending on the settings you establish with the third party that provides the social sharing feature.

soSAILize may also allow you to access Google Maps.

Please note that when you use Google Maps, you are subject to Google’s privacy policy, as amended by Google from time to time.

Third Party Links

In order to enhance your use of the Site and the Services, any member/user may insert links to other third-party websites.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to such sites.

These links direct You out of the Site and are beyond soSAILize’s control, and they may have their own privacy policies.

soSAILize is not responsible for such third-party sites’ content and activities.

You may access to said websites at your own risk and responsibility.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services as part of our Services.

These third parties may have separate and independent privacy policies.

We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the activities of these third parties and how they collect, use or share information about you.

Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our Services and welcome any feedback about these third parties.

Advertising and Analytics Services Provided by Others

We may allow third parties to serve advertisements on our behalf across the Internet and to provide analytics services in relation to the use of our Services.

How Do We Protect your Personal Details?

In order to protect the User’s information, soSAILize implements several security measures.

For example, when introducing users’ sensitive information, soSAILize encrypts such information through the use of the technology known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL).

Additionally, soSAILize follows generally accepted industry standards to protect your Personal information both when transmitted and received.

soSAILize takes reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

soSAILize uses reasonable security measures for protection the confidentiality of your information such as protecting servers by means of fire walls.

Our technical specialists are always working to ensure safety and protection of our Website and App.

Nevertheless, no app, website or Internet data transmitting is fully safe so we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, information lost or other violations will never happen.

We encourage you to take necessary precautions for providing the safety of your personal details including your authorization details and we also recommend logging out after using Website/App.

We cannot guarantee the safety of your personal details at the moment of their transmitting to our website.

Any transferring of your information is processed at your own risk.

As soon as we get your details we protect them with safety functions which help to prevent unauthorized access.

You must not disclose your registration details to the third parties or share them with anybody.

If you lost your registration details or shared them with anybody your personal details may be put at risk.

If this happens, please contact our support team and change your registration details on the page "Account Information".

soSAILize cannot be responsible for your disability to keep your registration details safe and such disability can lead to violation of our Terms.

Does soSAILize sell my personal information to third parties?

No, we do not sell or transfer your personal details to third parties.

Will soSAILize send me something?

By default your privacy settings are set to receive emails with notifications of any action taken by other members/users on your shared items.

Eg: you get an email every time you have a new "like", "share", "comment" on your profile-photos-videos-events-posts, or a request to join your events, or a new post in your groups/teams, private member messages etc.

You can choose in your profile's privacy settings if you would like to get notifications about all these communication features and other notifications regarding using the Website or App eg: montly digest.

At the bottom line of all these emails there is a link to your Privacy Settings page where you can alter all according to your needs.

soSAILize shall never voluntarily request or accept personally identifiable information from Users under sixteen (16) years old.

When using the Services, You warrant that you are sixteen (16) years old or older, or, as the case may be, that your parents or legal guardian have read and accept these Privacy Policies.

 

Privacy Settings

You may change your privacy settings and determine whether certain information about you will be shared with others by navigating to your profile on our website and editing your “Privacy Settings”

Account Information

You may update or correct information about you or deactivate your account at any time by logging into your account and editing your profile.

Even after you deactivate your account, we may retain certain information as required by law, for legitimate business purposes and to protect member safety.

Location Information

You have the ability to turn location-based services on and off by adjusting the settings of your Internet browser or mobile device and by following the standard uninstall process and removing soSAILize’s application from your device.

Doing so, however, may mean that you cannot use all or a portion of our Services.

Cookies

Cookies are used by soSAILize  to provide You with the Site Service, for example, cookies which enable User identification and Site login.

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default.

However, you can choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies.

Each browser is a little different, so look at your browser's help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies, or visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

Please note, however, that our Services may not function properly if your browser does not accept cookies.

When you access our website we use cookies for saving sessions.

Cookies together with session are deleted when you close browser.

We will also install permanent Cookies (also known as local memorizing devises) on users PCs so that our websites remembered users and made their authorization process easier and faster. 

Promotional Communications

You may opt out of receiving promotional communications from soSAILize by following the instructions in those emails or by adjusting the appropriate Privacy Settings in your profile.

If you opt out, we may still send you transactional or relationship messages, such as emails about your account, friends requests/posts etc.

If some information about you changed in real life, please update it in your Profile too. 

According to the current Law users can require access to their personal information by requesting a copy of their information which we store.

How can i change of what notifications I will be receiving in my email?

By default your privacy settings are set to receive emails with notifications of any action taken by other members/users on your shared items. 

Eg: you get an email every time you have a new "like", "share", "comment" on your profile-photos-videos-events-posts, or a request to join your events, or a new post in your groups/teams, private member messages etc.

You can login your account and choose in your profile's privacy settings the way you would like to get notifications about all these communication features and other notifications regarding using the Website or App eg: montly digest of members actions, etc.

At the bottom line of these received emails there is a link to your Privacy Settings page where you can alter all, one by one, according to your needs.

If the reason you want to delete your account is to opt-out from receiving email notifications from other users, then just login to your Privacy Settings page where you can alter all, one by one, according to your needs.

This way you keep your benefits as a soSAILize member built in the period of your membership, eg: s$Lz coins earned and not spent, friendships and messages shared with other members etc.

Users who want to delete their account/profile and all their data, can do it by one of these ways:

- Access your Account/Profile, go to "Settings" and click delete profile.

If you want to stop using your profile, it will be deactivated first.

That means that no user can find you in the App or on the Website.

We save your profile for the case you would like to restore it.

Many users deactivate profiles for temporal reasons and they expect that we will save their personal details till they come back to our App/Website.

So you will be able to restore your profile in full within 90 days after deactivation.

To prevent abuse and/or misuse of the soSAILize services by user whose account was blocked or deleted we save some information at our own consent as it can be necessary to prevent a second profile creation violating our Terms and also for observing all laws and regulations.

Even after deletion of your information from your Profile or after your account deletion, copies of your information can still be visible and/or available on the Internet as you shared your information before with other users and your information could be copied or saved by other users, also your information can be saved in search systems.

We cannot control it and we are not responsible for it. If you provided your personal information to third party websites or apps they can store your information in compliance with their terms of service or their privacy policy.

So we will process your personal details all the time until you delete your profile and within the period of not more than 3 months after that for the case if you would like to restore your profile.

Though if you do not access your profile for more than 3 months we may delete it in the process of clearing database.
