you
so this past spring my father-in-law
bill ended up sending this message to us
saying so what do you think about a
circumnavigation
how are you doing trip
it's good at this point everyone who you
know well all three of the kids have
been seasick really really bad yesterday
you know the day before yesterday and
yesterday and today everyone's finally
starting to feel better sales weren't
very effective
and have been sailing along in sight
we are
86 degrees point a six threes for 6.92
well five Souls Alan Ford Regina steed
for daily for dwelleth fort and Elise
Estill ages 43 38
16 14 story for this look like oh no
control over the vessel at all 21
degrees twenty two point eight three for
North 8 6 degrees for six point nine two
two West we need help immediately anyone
anyone at all if you can hear me please
respond
emergency emergency emergency
sailing vessel itís going ashore on this
look like we have crossed the barrier
island we are going ashore in 3/10 of a
mile making about or not
five songs aboard
our position 21 degrees twenty two point
eight to three North 86 degrees forty
six point eight seven four West can
anyone hear me please respond if you can
hear me please
well we went ashore last night we lost
both anchors about a mile east of an
unnamed barrier island and probably 30
or 40 knots of wind and waves of an
unknown height was greater than 10 feet
we went across the barrier island and
came up on the mainland we're about six
or seven miles north of Juarez Mexico
we're all fine the boat seems pretty
much undamaged I hopped off about a half
an hour ago and went and found some
people and gave them copies or
ships paperwork and and passports and
ask them to contact the local
authorities and let them know that we
were here my intention is to get a hold
of everybody up north and let them know
where we are and what's going on and get
the assistance that we're going to need
to deal with this situation it was a
really scary night I anxiety and all
that but we're good
you know we're fine we're safe and now
it's just a case to make it sure that
we've got so what do we need to make to
do what comes next and figure this out
so anyway chances are we'll be seeing
police or immigration in the next hour
or so if I had to guess
and we'll move on so whatever our next
step things you know whether it's
staying on the boat here on the beach
and then we can get to it off and it's a
couple of days hotel or whatever you
know kind of I want to get into Isla
Mujeres regardless cuz I at least know
that area and I think that the bond will
be relatively easy to get off the beach
based on how she's up and how shallow
she is so we'll see first damage goes we
broke our steering but that's something
that I actually have everything on board
to fix right now our engine is spelled
defunct well once this weather calms I
think we'll be alright this seems to be
a tropical storm - which of course we
didn't get any weather report on because
we don't speak Spanish
not probably our biggest mistake but
yeah we had 8 o'clock last night I
checked all the judge Club anchor roads
and they were fine didn't even seem to
be taping that much and then sometime
between 8 p.m. and midnight shifts time
they both snapped and and he went ashore
it was one of the most terrifying
experiences I think any of us have ever
been through
I'm grateful for my wife's choice and
strong sturdy shallow boat that allowed
us to come ashore safely and attacked
Lily was absolutely phenomenal last
night kelly was doing her absolute best
that she was great
Anna was fantastic Regina my first mate
was right on point I think we handled
the situation really well considering
all the stresses at home
I still need to find the logbook and
update it yeah that's it
you
