Queensland's most historical island

located four kilometers from the mouth

of the Brisbane River this beautiful

national park was once called the

hellhole of the Pacific when it served

as a men's maximum security prison from

1867 to 1932

back then it was home to the colony's

worst criminals

today an environmental education center

operates on the island tour operators

conduct educational historic tools by

day and at night you can enjoy one of

the ghost tools private boat owners can

enjoy a range of their tour on weekends
