you'll then sail down a relatively
narrow channel where the tide runs quite
strongly peel Island is only accessible
by watercraft dugongs turtles and
dolphins frequent the waters here it's
known for its natural beauty abundant
bird and animal life and up to 74 bird
species have been identified so far

platypus red can be seen here on the
left it's a bucket stretch and in the
early years of last century dredged out
shipping channels in ports along the
Queensland coast the platypus was sank
to form a breakwater in 1926 this is the
marker for the southeast corner be
careful not to turn too sharply after
passing it as it is pretty shallow as
you personal now we are at the southeast
end of Horseshoe Bay extremely popular
on a northeasterly breeze but very
treacherous on a southeasterly we were
lucky to have a northeasterly today and
I counted 65 boats

Stradbroke berries is a common mode of
transport to bring your car over to
strawberryk island a much larger island

goat island and uninhabited island just
situated south of Horseshoe Bay do not
adjust your screens this was our first
attempt at our new drone
unfortunately footage is slightly blurry
but we wanted to give you an idea of the
number of vessels here we have now
rectified the problem and you can afford
to blur free footage in future videos
