race day today been up since 5:00 but

start to attend its our first race

buzzing about it it's one of the most

challenging ones in the Canaries

of the season so what we're happy to be

involved in this

it's from Los Cristianos to Santiago

definitely where is it

some Sebastian San Sebastian Inlet and

they like a mirror so bit like the

Sydney to Hobart maybe 21 21 mass yes

they need to Hobart a little bit further

but this is a sprint uh-huh okay okay

got some treacherous waters strong

currents heavy winds

yeah that's out there dick flat yeah um

this is one of the boats were racing

against Dutch Dutch flag boat Prince

that's Judith and Patrick

I feel I feel confident that we're gonna

get podium yeah yes I'm confident in our

abilities I'm confident in Chelsea

Strongbow fast boat probably most of all

my most confident thing about getting

podium there's only two boats racing Wow

Patrick yes I've also been given the

honors for sounding the air horn when it

starts so we're very excited by this

this excited for Christmas or your

first died I think it's gonna be better

took my parents out when we first

brought Chelsea to go from Limington to

coho and there's this big race about

1800 boats in drew I think it's called

the around the island race on the Isle

of Wight and we sail straight for the

middle of it accidentally yeah no sorry

everyone never know this one's on we do

know this one's own let's hope we don't

get caught out by that little Fred

so yeah we are going to avail Gunray to

meet our friends Patrick intruder from

Bell grammar a we're going to go to the

windy was completely wrong today

so far this said we met 20 knots 25

knots this morning and got 1.6 we may be

between the islands you get these

acceleration zones so maybe we'll get it

there you know hopefully we get wind a

lot of 30 knots which someone else's

told us is how here today yeah bit of

wind we're getting there fairly quickly

that some ago where we just left

we've got a bit more wind now we've got

about 10 knots inch but it's come in

from the exact way that we want to go so

yeah which is the complete opposite to

what Wendy said so we're gonna head out

a little bit and then see if we've got

across

so we've taken the jib in because the

wind picked up quite a lot and actually

we've we think the roller file is broke

yeah so that's another little thing to

fix

no yeah yeah so I picked up pretty

massively

and our speed even though we've got the

engine on and our main it's just under

four knots no idea oh yeah you know

you're in the Atlantic when your waves

have got waves we've now got 20-plus

knots of wind which is okay but in these

seas it sir is pretty rubbish

but everything so we've made the sales

smaller

and this is the white

so we've decided to turn around because

the swell was just ridiculous

the wind picked up to about 25 27 with

it Justin and we just didn't like it but

we weren't getting anyway we're doing

like two knots say we've given up we're

gonna go back to San Miguel we're

probably never gonna end up actually

leaving some ago yeah and yeah this is

this is it how what's our speed Ryan

oh I do not like these right

okay so it's calmed down a bit now but

that was that's the most scared I've I

think I've probably ever been the

fastest we've ever been what we were

doing 10 at points 10 knots the boat was

just being swung around everywhere

wasn't it the whole Burrell was in the

water that was horrific

that was absolutely horrific yeah 27

knots downwind plus tani wow it was 10

with the waves but 8 at the low between

8 and 10 add it onto that fan of mine

with beginners literally stop there and

now it's just nothing now it looks fine

Brian you did so well then we did a work

together there I just held on and cried

okay so to make matters worse we didn't

realize that the tanks were filled

oh my god it's making my eyes all right

oh my god I can't breathe

and the worst part about this is I need

to get into that cupboard to open it to

empty forever dear oh my god my magic

cookies

this is definitely a low of boat life

and I went oh about this my one
