Late summer in Mindelo Cape Verde filled with good times all around. All kinds of parties, raves and events, and it seems Covid is a thing of the past. As well the weather is warm and kind, the best time to take friends out sailing in the Sao Vicent Canal. Yes, I'm handicapped, but the adventure continues. It's back to good times and glorious sailing in Cape Verde Africa.

well after the last video that i did talking about  the hard truth of my broken hip i received just a  

avalanche of from all the people that they're on  youtube uh on patreon and so forth you have been  

just incredibly sweet nice supportive with even  cash donations i can't thank you enough this is  

going to pay for my uh plane ticket in fact it  did pay for my plane tickets as i just booked  

the flight back to switzerland today so i will  be going back there i will be getting treated and  

i will get back to gallup as soon as possible as  well i'm going to try to keep the episodes coming  

yeah i'll be on land for a while as a sailor  but as a sailor we have to sustain injury and we  

have to overcome injuries and we have to um deal  with it just like so it's just part of the life  

but uh i will try to do my best to continue the  the winded voyage through the whole surgery part

so life here in mandela has been as follows  it's rainy season so i'm trying to gather  

some rain water and there's still some  excited tourists stirring up the bag

with the help of peter's car i drove wendy  around to get her papers in order so she  

could get vaccinated she was all stressed  out as there is a vaccine mandate in effect  

but now she's happy she'll be able to  go into places the month of august here  

in mindelo has been a blast i couldn't enjoy  it to a full potential because of my injury but  

it was just one party after the next yep rave  parties were jamming all the way out here man  

the diaspora of cape verde stretches very far  and the people came here from other countries  

so there's tons of americans tons of french  italian caveridians who've come here and they  

just enjoyed themselves from riding around  on jet skis or just going out and things  

seemed to open up it seemed like we weren't  thinking so much about covet and all that  

i ended up lending my generator through peter to  these party organizers because the power went out  

and i got to go in three then there was another  party at an abandoned water park where again my  

generator was in use and uh got the party there  and then there's birthday parties here and there  

it's just like it's just crazy so i'm far from  being pummed out even though i am sometimes found  

out you know because life is absolutely wonderful  here there we go now i'm back being a pirate  

okay here we are at ladies house  with nelly nelly yes ellie ellis

it's her birthday today and she's invited all  over to her house and i'll show you around  

wonderful food she's a great person she's  really cool thank you thank you thank you

luis here is olivia's dude he first  sailed to cape verde over 20 years ago  

and now he's kind of settled here  for now living on his boat also

uh

this is louis or louise there's a lady's  boyfriend and uh yeah he fixed this whole  

room up for her she used to sleep in  the corridor this is my mother's house  

so you've been this nice room for her here up  on the roof and here we're gonna have the party  

here on the roof deck when did he join me a little  later and luis began to dance with all the ladies  

i got to admit i was envious of lewis i will  jiggle and wiggle a bit in private but here with  

all these folks and my [ __ ] leg i don't think so  i'll keep my seat and swallow a grog for comfort

came back showered and dressed  and she's looking mighty fine  

i'll let you guess what birthday it is  for her there will be a clue coming up  

this kid is primed to be a grill master oladia  put out quite a spread that was homemade pizza  

marinated grilled chicken and as well  spaghetti bolognese i sure would have  

loved to attempt dancing with wendy oh well  maybe in a few months god willing to wonder

now let's get back in the ocean i wanted to  test out galapagos new halyard today was the  

perfect day and i decided to invite a couple of  new friends so we got a new crew board taking  

them out got a french guy who wants to start a  business here sailing so he's behind the helm here  

practicing and then we have an interesting young  lady here that is half brazilian and half swedish  

quite a combination so let me introduce you to  paolo and janine yeah we're lucky today this is  

the this is what sailing is supposed to be in  cape verde got 15 knots of wind in the canal  

nice gentle swell we're not getting our  ass kicked we're not getting all sprayed  

i think it's time for a cocktail what do  you think janine comes from a cocktail

okay time for cocktail paolo had not been out in  sea since he's arrived here several months ago  

he has a wonderful boat with which he wants to  start a cruise business here but like many he has  

been stuck because of covet so i wanted to give  him a taste of glorious sailing here on the canal  

some inspiration for the voyages  he'll offer to a few special guests
