Second Chance Sailing the story so far

Louisville a school can be aired again
I've got about an hour to kill so just
thought I'd do the story of
second-chance Eiland some a cure
again this is an ad want to do a couple
use concede saying it it's not it's not
easy to do a video just citing the
garlic out part first thing find a nice
quiet car park
this isn't don't be too worried about
people walking past and seeing you're
looking like a complete lunatic talking
to yourself muscles do that most of the
time specially dump story a second chill
sailing over all came about started off
we always said meet up at a place called
gray belly market we should sell a Fred
stolle I've got Bob just passing them
day away on buying bargains in Don's
case in my case I think I'll lose it by
bargains off there as well
none of us have been say littlefoot's on
that stage and one day Don came up to us
and he said Bob all we thought it said
Lee Barco used to buy anything
it turned out it bought about in
borrowing finesse which is about 140
miles away from Manchester so we all
decided to go out with him for a day out
and jolly boys day out and see what it
was like
so we all saw off at that time it was
Alan made on and JJ JJ JJ the clown he
was actually a clown by profession we've
not seen him for a bit lost to try
getting back in touch with him I think
he's found love
so we went down one day to Barrow and we
didn't know about the the Box Donnan say
you name it bottom
site is seen on eBay I think you paid
about five on the two of them he didn't
the first he thought was by him one bit
so died by two we got there and it was a
25-foot boat with a snap mast and no
engine the engine was an outboard on the
rail at the back of the boat it was a
bilge keel and there's no engine with it
but next to it it was what we considered
with a wooden bowl about 25 for again a
few nice bits on it big on the side of
it but in the back of it a diesel engine
now looking back on it it was an
immaculate diesel engine under a wooden
cover never seen such a clean diesel
engine cost you 2 grand Norma said we
could get it going probably about 20
minutes now if looking back the idea was
to say that engine out and put it in the
one next to it and get the mass fixed in
fact he picked up I think you pick a
musket a time cheap but it was just too
far to go if you're gonna would get a
bolt and you're gonna need to be working
on it don't get it vast distances
because you may think you're gonna have
the intentions of doing it books
somewhat crop up and you just won't at
the time and I thought most people just
spend loads of money and never ever go
sailing so it decided the best thing was
to sell them put them on ebay sold the
bill steal a good price about about 124
not and I think he got about 120 for the
one MIDI the red one was a good engine
the problem with them as well is he
worth to it they were on the beach as
such what Beryl the tide doesn't come in
very much most days and once a month you
might get it coming in full side and
whoever beats this and beached it at
front side so it was way of the beach
I reckon it was a thousand yards away
from the safe and borrow a terrible
place to go out in borrowing finesses
where they make the submarines there's a
nice channel liable again they're
supposed to even launch into submarines
they ought the comedy about certain
times of the month and then you have to
go under the bridge and that I was the
mustard actually snaps on this boat the
last owner had some trouble not called
the bridge to open and a little bridge
before they opened it I think he's
injured a gun so that was the the first
thing first time it went into having a
bowl and we never might never have much
to get out in it wasn't a feud wasn't
long after that Don came back to us
but another Bowl this seems to be a
reoccurring thing we don't well this
problem is done is he when he goes on
eBay
most people will put near his first not
done it was put sorry first the next
boat
Suzie sister Bob oh it's in Cardiff now
Cardiff 200 miles away from Manchester
no I fear American children miles is now
it's like all the shops well it's more
than what the shops from Manchester it
was a four-hour drive it's not a nice
drive it's all countess
so if plum well it turned out lead the
boat was in a marina in Cardiff Bay
County pays locked off from the sea and
the Bristol Channel his plan was to sail
it back with his cousin would take about
three or four days to come when we
decided our days come I was a nice place
for all those we've been I've got round
it so we went down there was me Alan and
donned the plum was to go down again
he'd bought the boat on eBay
I know people say you've got to see
she got know most of the times if you
getting a bargain just buy it go down if
you don't like it can sell it again
so told it to you this time we went down
with him to Cardiff and the plan was to
have a look over the bottle because it
been stood for about two or three years
in the marine are swinging more it was
gonna look over the bog you all get what
best we could
right and Dom was gonna go down a couple
days later and sell it back oh cool so
we went down we took all what we thought
might nice babe I threw petrol tools I
think we had most things anyway
so we got there and it was a marina like
I say in the baby but it was a snotty
marina sorry for any use knots that are
watching this boat were just lots of
munches dock and you take it as they are
as we are rough and ready
well rough and talk about the ready so
we got there and it was it was a really
posh marina and we seen where the boat
was and the bog was about 3035 feet away
from Thornton pontoon so we had no way
again out to it
so with all go up to the clubhouse and
ask him suit seemed alike whether we
could leave it there a few days and work
on it so we went up to the clubhouse and
this Commodore coil you know when you go
to these some of these places you've got
the Commodore and all the ones we do
think sir who think the real sailors it
turns out that most people in Cardiff
don't want up bank which is totally
earring upon basically more about that
lights off all the people just go and
sail around the bay because it's about
one or two miles across so it's nice
little place for sailing but you're
never gonna encounter anyways window
anything like that maybe a better side
when you open the gates so big golden
there's a Commodore I said any chance of
leaving it so oh yeah because you can't
just to pay a year up front soon our
free now Felton pound well I picked
Donald off the floor and he'd fainted by
then we only wanted to leave it there
for two days so we decided to see if we
get a boat going and was council
moorings one mile across the bay very
nice place
Cardiff and this really good council
Warren's it designed with a gate on him
very cheap as it turns out there are
about two to three pound a day two more
u-boat there so it's a nice very nice
stop off place so we should we said to
this Commodore any chance to view the
circuits wants to take this out to the
boat yeah no problem on go down to the
Jetta and I'll send a couple of my
men'll anyway ten minutes later two
blokes are rising a little dinga takes
us out to the boat we talk about all the
tools and things we thought we may need
it
Vince don't like as they forgot to three
years so a mean dong what me done up
well actually all of us are quite
mechanically minded they said all these
anything we couldn't fix and electric
anything anything like that we can power
on to Norma said new counters well if
somebody shows you are you on YouTube
you'll find out a lot of these things
are quite easy
there we go doubt I looked on the boat
it seemed all right it was dirty and a
lot of crap clinging to the bottom but
it was all that in one piece so anyway
we set about the engine no chance of
starting engine specialties out boards
when it been stood for more than six
months you gonna have to strip the cab
down or if you're looking also made rain
the car before they left it one thing
you don't want to do is believing these
out boards with
fuel to go stale in the cab you're gonna
go after clean now anyway clean the cow
bow and give it a few polls and it's
died but it was running rough it needed
a good needed with good run I think we'd
left a bed is the fuel stale fuel in the
tank me just topped it all again we
should we should have ended it what we
had nowhere to put the stale fuel so we
thought we'd just fell
so you'd run into me I would take over a
few pops and farts out of it
so I'll be decided right fair enough
we'll drop the strop and motor across
this Bay
it only takes about an hour to counsel
morons this stage I think we should have
run the engine a little bit more dumb
winter from the bowl and to describe
where this boat was now it's on it was
on the swinging morning 40 feet from the
pontoon with a small channel behind us
but 100 channel did was rocks the other
news channel there was freedom face away
and you could have gone out there turn
left and gone across but in front of us
they must have been 40 boats on swinging
mornings nice boats big more about next
most popular for 50 60 grand
we don't let more boats most people
mostly stop white motor boats anyway
most of the boats were 35 feet away from
us I'm swinging Morden's but it was a
gap don't forget this is my first time
ever on the bowl so 35 feet and this is
60 65 70 feet gap were querying and we
can see in from the wall there's a
couple of the mobs different levels now
when if we were a bit pushed for time as
well because it was getting late on in
the day so anyway we start the engine up
the engines running lefty tick you know
when even put it in gear by then dongles
at the front drops of morning now at
this stage you would have reversed 20
feet solid solid and gone up the channel
and gone out the easy way we don't do
things the easy way at second chance
sailing I don't think Donna dust me told
me what to do so I decided well the nice
gap there he drops the morning bangs it
in gear accelerates a little bit and it
seems to be going on I I'm sad to go
through this gap
well that's you know just before that no
no after that yeah what softened up such
go through the gap no I think a missing
a little bit yes I actually did reverse
that was thought was what happened did
reverse and I start to reverse injured
stopped and the child was taken towards
the pontoon and I remember Allen was on
the pontoon and we just floating around
there going we thought we weren't was
upon to us he went towards these rocks
so anyway we grab the rope and threw it
to Rutland and this rope was so dry it
went about 2 feet there's no chance
we're gonna get the rope to Rutland so
were anyway jump back in the the back of
the boat and I give it one Almighty pull
this engine started again so like I said
that stage I decided rather than I
didn't how long engine was gonna go far
rod and go through the channel go
through the space in the boats but the
idea so anyway so I going through this
space in the boats and it seems we going
out or going through all right and then
all of a sudden it was like a bit of an
optical illusion it's the two bolts I
decided was seem to be following us
didn't know what this time free pizza
morning chain from one or both of them
and so I accelerate a bit more not a
good idea as well anyway these two bolts
died to call my disciples to meet us
this gap got smaller and smaller and
there was a bummer almighty crush we
didn't do any damage and I think that
just the che slipped off then it must
have just been on the finger on this
boat and then we was off
it's a terrific speed across the cost
see the lake most in love it is so we
Scharf across earth two miles an hour
hour later we managed to get to the
council more into the other and
now that was a funny boat that comes
from Orleans council more than crystals
shaped in a couple of hate shapes the
floating standard flogging pontoons and
it's not all our wind in there and it's
a bit of a tide in there and the first
time cover an incident places it's not
always easy
locally wasn't any other boat sir so
Don's at the front of the ball well no
exactly halfway up he was bought at the
at the mast as we come into the floating
pontoon now I take my first time and
Eugenia isn't always easy and I actually
did a very good job for me first time
never done a good job after now I did a
very good job anyway I come slowly and
said upon to now that stage don't nobody
was read on he suddenly got a second
wind or decided he was Superman estimate
and advice normally used to do this he
picks up a rope and he went rolling
towards the front of the boat and I was
still moving towards a pontoon at 1 mile
an hour and it decides to jump off the
front of the boat onto the pontoon
trying to bomb off now danza pension
center now he jumped in jumps in the air
and one leg went over it perfectly
alright you know like just trailed there
like dead chicken got caught in the from
any when I saw what sit on to the
pontoon luckily luckily but I was that
close that he didn't get trapped or
anything I'm laughing me balls off at
this stage jim soft decided that boat
walks around the pontoon picks him up
grabs the rope size it off so that was
our first day we went out of there but
now to the gate with the number on and
as we were going up there like say he
planned to go out the next day there was
a bloke walking down towards us because
he was one bolt there and I said Gary
Biturbo it was somebody take him out
every day but the calm might want us
about 25-30 people the important it
this one was took about 200 people well
it was a ship it was 250 foot long and
about 75 feet tall
anyway this bloke comes walking down so
it's obviously a captain just like an
airline captain white shirt
flat cap I would crap on his shoulders
nice bloke we said were planning going
out of here tomorrow he said well you're
lucky not going out today said because
once you got through that lock over them
we could see the lock it was about half
a mile away once you go out through that
lock he said you're in the Bristol
Channel now he said if you've not been
there before it's that can be a vicious
place he said I was in today he says
even I won't go in that he said because
he's 25-foot waves it said so just watch
out
now that should have told so much
Saddam in the first place but we check
the engine out on on the boat and of
incan had decided to go on the next day
so I'll tell you the part to see you
soon
