sailing two days after our little

Cardiff adventure Dom went down

mais cousin boat was still on the

council Maury he'd really stopped off he

had two bottles of water on the sandwich

and a gallon of petrol the idea then

mister set out from Cardiff go through

the lock gates in the Bristol Channel

two-day trip up to come by

it's only when he went out through the

lock gates no problems no problems at

all going to Bristol Channel and found

the wind was going the wrong way so were

decided to use the outboard not a good

idea

Awards oh all right forgetting it a mile

or two it's certainly noble forgetting

you 350 miles unless you're in a brand

new outboard if you're gonna do that you

want something like a home dog this was

a 35 year old Suzuki or I think it was a

Suzuki and it wasn't going fantastic as

it was so anyway he was still the rod

this died off and dude

they were going for about an hour off

and it's cousin what's in the cabin said

what's all the water gone so don't look

in the cabin it was a little bit news

about 55 gallons of water

sorry done it turned out we'd made one

little up when we done look at the

mole

we'd look round what we thought we'd

seen everything that we needed to see

say for this is a not quiet gal park if

you're gonna do want

in a nice quiet place like I say the

bilge pump was missing and the last

owner Ellen block took the pipe the

pipes normally at the bucket of ball

above the waterline what we done been on

the engine for about an hour

the pipe was submerged what was getting

into the cabin and the unbothered going

into the cab and so a lot ground

so nobody done decided the best thing to

do would be to beach the boat fix it and

be on the merry way

but if you know anything about the

coastline around there there aren't many

beaches luckily I found a nice shingle

beach and he beats the boat they fixed

it fix these fix the pipe and self and

Merriweather and got malt and hours into

the trip and the engine give up the goal

sense so luckily the other sales of news

about wind and Don sent to his cousin

right these it looked on the map layered

so the only thing he had nothing else

was over just a paper map and the author

of the map me I know Don's maps if you

ever ever bring to an out near you take

him up with hums and rum up his ass

because anything done up like that he's

way out a date and this I think the date

on this was 1762 actually a saint of

paint but it was probably done on

cumbersome I thought it probably wasn't

pilots map and apparently this Harbor

that was supposed to be made in 1762

never got dog anyway but you could see a

lighthouse so where he got on his phone

no radio I don't think he got on his

phone which doesn't help when the owl

and I come out when you don't got any of

these things so get all the things

before you go

rough-and-ready you a second chance

so anyway from the lighthouse no from

the coast guard up and told him where he

was and said where's where's the harbor

and it turned out I guess I did with

both no harbor mate was most plans we

made probably a few years after now and

Dom decided then to the next place he

was going to be rougher this time the

next place to get through was gonna be

swans about 30 miles away and at the

same time as he was talking to the coast

guard it Cassini was a lifeboat station

there as well and the lifeboat came out

and the Coast Guard said to him right

well we sieve it a bit so we've sent him

out he's gonna come over to you so he

came over to him the lifeboat was in a

big rig with a big 250 horsepower engine

on it

he said well we'll tell you then you're

all right

what you saw was in here no no no no no

I said the nearest places swans a simple

told you there I like Don said that the

weather was getting a little bit bad by

then they were only about ten foot waves

so they tied him up and start to tow him

now Dom describes this first experience

as like being on a roller coaster

because this ripped in hung around is

shot off was by now I thought and I was

junior and he's sharp about 35 knots

we'd done in Seoul Don doesn't wasn't

doing any steering they left a lifeboat

man on they're staying at the helm and

Don his cousin he said we just started

the back and a boat just held on for

dear life anyway they got two swans er

put it into another marina there and it

turned out it just wasn't feasible the

best thing to do then was to get it

transported over one to come wait and

that was probably one of the cheapest

ones whoever had done it cost about

three on the pound

upon a low loader and taken to Conway so

that was the start of our adventures we

got it to calm way and I was seal some

lifting keel it was I was our first

yacht taught the enjoyed our so quit

duck learned a lot of things with that

that's your best thing best thing to do

is buy it buy a cheap one and progress

from there don't go out and buy silly

price one because one if you don't like

it and two even with the expensive ones

as you'll find out in later stories it

can cost you a lot of money to repair

bolts the Alec cash cow

you'll plow money into them like there's

no tomorrow you will find out we've got

a lot of things to tell you there but

I'm gonna keep doing these stories so

this is just the first one so if you

stop a few times and no I'm gonna start

off start a few times it's not easy I

doing the next one I'm gonna do an

indicator probably but it's certainly

gonna be a lot quieter place in this so

it fits you first time but in we've got

a few things to tell you
