check out this crazy array poets
we are about to arrive in salmon a
Dominican Republic we left looper on
we've sailed all day sailed all night
and sailed all day
ran into some squalls
motoring pretty much closed
because here with the East trade winds
are really really strong and it's so
strong in fact that the sea state gets
built right up and you really can't sail
on days where the trades are really
strong so you sail and they're not so
strong and unfortunately it seems to end
up being a motoring day every time
because you go in it's light and it's so
light that you really can't make any
headway
so we ended up motoring or motor sailing
pretty much the entire way we're
motoring right now the sea States has
been terrible honestly we had nice big
rollers in the beginning ten foot
rollers at hua 10-second interval but
then when the squalls hit everything
just went washing machine and we're back
to rollers and then washing machine and
just kind of like a strange mix of sea
State
the boats been rocking and rolling the
whole way and it hasn't been very
comfortable we're all not feeling very
so we're glad to get in to salmon this
is our last stop in Dominican Republic
we'll hang out here for a while
we're going to Puerto Rico

something went horribly wrong for these
guys looks like maybe this boat sank
during a I don't know a storm or a
hurricane or something
[Music]
yeah they're doing the local elections
today here in Dominican Republic and
they've had a pretty good turnout for
voting so far looks like so yeah pretty
great

yeah pee yeah I love them
friend of ours had a dinghy stolen last
night unfortunately a group of cruisers
all got together on their dinghies
looking for it
they found the dinghy itself the dinghy
motor is not turned up and we had no
luck finding it
they had their dinghy locked but the
dinghy was in the water they're not
interested in the dinghy itself they
want the motor so if you guys are
planning on coming to visit salmon uh
what I suggest to you is to take your
motor off your dinghy at night and put
it on a mount or ensure that the dinghy
is out of the water on your dabit salmon
is pretty cool place I found things a
little bit cheaper and looper on the
streets are really busy there's a lot
more mopeds going on I found that
there's quite a bit of car pollution I
found it a little hard to breathe but
I'm looking forward to going into the
mountains going on some hikes hopefully
hey guys so we left Samana and we're
heading over to the National Park just
on the other side of the Samana Bay the
reason we're doing this is because of
this outbreak of the corona virus and
Dominican Republic they only have eleven
cases but this morning they shut the
borders down for two weeks and we are
stuck in the Dominican Republic that's
not a bad thing I mean it is beautiful
here but over in this National Park we
should be a lot safer another to worry
as much so we just stopped up in Samana
got our dispatch iou's and every time
you leave a port here and Dominican you
need to get a legal dispatch EO from the
Navy to travel from port to port so we
have to do that we're back out in the
water we got a nice downwind sail we
don't feel very far now this park is
famous for the location of where they
shot Jurassic Park take the first movie
so that's gonna be great we'll try to
get some of that on camera and show you
guys there's also some really cool caves
there it's not gonna be a bad two weeks
and it could be worse I mean Dominican
Republic is it's really beautiful it's
cheap the people are friendly be safe
everyone and we will keep you guys
updated on what's happening with us and
the yacht's that we're traveling with
via the san lorenzo is where we spent
our two-week probe in nineteen
quarantine in the dominican republic we
shared this anchorage with five other
boats making up a small group that we
aptly named the quarren Atilla at that
time we were still allowed to go ashore
and explore the park
