In this video "What ACTUALLY happens," we fish for Conch in St Croix, then sail from Charlotte Amalie, around St Thomas and back to Megan's Bay USVI with a running deck cam (for the first time) recording everything. (We got a GoPro, can you tell?!?) Uncut deck footage of us "doing our thing" while sailing.

In August of 2017 we sold everything and moved aboard Balachandra, a 1986 C&C44 sailboat, then sailed it over 300 nautical miles to Halifax Nova Scotia to spend a cold Canadian winter in the frozen waters of the North Atlantic. Sailing Balachandra is our YouTube sailing vlog inspired by other great channels such as Delos and La Vagabonde, which documents the sailing adventures of myself and my partner Nawal as we navigate the globe. We also dive into lots of DIY boat projects both above and below decks, and share with you all of the pros and cons of living aboard full time. Sailing Balachandra is published weekly so please subscribe so you don't miss out on future videos!

underneath them against the inside we

return to Magens Bay

when raising the anchor we noticed there
was quite a bit of stuff stuck inside
from plywood to mud to sand it was
really crammed in there
we tried clearing it by motoring and
letting the water wash it clear but in
the end it took repeated raising and
lowering to properly clearly when Noel
and I raise the jib sometimes we trade
places it's typical for me to set up the
lines while she points us into the wind
and then we switch places
I grab the jib sheet and deploy the jib
and then sometimes we switch places
again to take wind into the sail you
don't always do it this way but we've
sailed together for a long time now and
this has become kind of our routine

we left Charlotte amali this morning and
we are sailing to Megan's Bay again
we've been to Magens Bay already and we
loved it
we're going back now because the US
Virgin Islands have opened the beaches
and we never got a chance to check out
the beach at Megan's Bay for the first
time we were there and we're here in the
US Virgin Islands a little longer so we
thought what the heck let's go check it
out so that's what we're doing today
sure bit of winds going around st.
Thomas means sailing pretty much half of
the entire island so it's downwind
halfway and then up when the other half
we're just on the downwind sail now and
pretty soon we'll turn the corner at the
bottom of the island and
we'll have an upwind sale which is a
little tougher there might be some
tacking but we chose a day where the
wind was pretty good that we should only
have maybe two tacks and a pretty good
wind angle
