A mellow month in the Marshall islands! This week we settle in to life in Majuro. We organise our cruising permits for outer atoll travel. We do a big restocking of the larder after a few months of travel through Tuvalu and Kiribati. The local shops and supermarkets are well stocked but we have to keep a close eye on the use by dates... . Amazon is definitely our friend this week as we take advantage of the low shipping rates. And we finally replace Dave. Big shoes to fill , but Daisy seems up for the task ... We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you. In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve. We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle. So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles. We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second. We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel! Subscribe now and join us as we continue our salty travels around the world. https://www.youtube.com/c/SailingDoubleTrouble?sub_confirmation=1 👏Credits: Thanks to 'Shure ' microphones for voiceover sound. 🎼Music: DT Theme tune - 'Happy' by MBB https://soundcloud.com/mbbofficial Creative Commons — Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported — CC BY-SA 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b... don't forget to subscribe to our channel
and click on the bell icon to be
notified of future episodes the Marshall
Islands consists of 29 atolls each made
up of many islets and five islands
situated in about 180,000 square miles
of the Pacific to visit the outer atolls
we were required to apply for a cruising
permit for each of the atolls we wished
to visit this permit is then signed by
the local mayor and internal affairs so
in the Department of Internal Affairs
filling out our forms we have to fill
out one form for each with our paperwork
submitted it was time to get on with
boat jobs first on the list the laundry
back to the boat
how was that Joe
we're gonna go and speak to the mayor
yes we got dressed up especially with
super smart we've got all of our answers
ready for any questions email me
thank you this is the mayor of what J
would you what J at all and he is just
very kindly given us permission to take
double trouble there and explore their
beautiful at all so we're looking
forward to saying that how long have you
been the mayor just couple weeks now a
couple of weeks on newly appointed new
is this after the elections oh I see
okay congratulations and thank you very
much indeed for giving us permission to
visit your it's much appreciated
Jerry's full of cold it's been a long
weekend hasn't it jokes for you we're
getting off the boat though stretch our
legs Morrow was this season's last stop
on our Pacific trip from here we had
good access to international postal
services to restock supplies and spares
we'd started placing online orders in
Kedah bas to time the delivery for just
after our planned arrival and little
piggys we are what are we doing babe
Rob's putting in smoked almonds we got
this medjool dates look at my date zoom
in on that Darren's replacement
so we're still in Majuro and one of my
things about that is that it is seen as
domestic delivery for any US orders that
we make and one thing that we have done
is order a replacement for Darrin after
being slight mishap that we had and we
have gone for a new Mavic and it's a
maverick mini which is a smaller version
of the Maverick air but from what we've
seen on the specs there was a slight
digit failure with the fact that you
know the joystick was pushing down
instead of pushing up so I had a 50/50
chance of getting it in the right
position that the control upside-down
no penalty and basically I've just done
this perfect low-level flyby but
continued to get lower until it became
underwater anyway onto our new drone yes
so have yet to name play with Daisy and
fairness and we'll see how that goes so
this is the mamak mini which is a newer
model and it's very small but it has a
spectacularly large fly time which is
great and super pinky super cute and
yeah similar specs to the air enough for
what we use it for anyway so we're going
to try this
it was also considerably cheaper than
Terran was as well yes no we do however
we'll put up next to our BIOS a coffee
page yes below you can help maybe give
us a small donation yeah towards our
you'd rather read where we just start
with that this weekend it would be very
grateful as we're in the land of the
internet we've been researching things
on the internet so bias a coffee is one
of the
the new things that we're going to be
trying so we would much appreciate a
latte or a long black yes that's right
the legal area that that's the post
office in the Marshall Islands here the
Marshall Islands has much better data
connections so we spent quite some time
getting our paperwork and online content
updated that's a wonderful thing about
being back on the network and the
Internet my husband in the meantime what
have you been up to
I've been spring cleaning a little bit
so we've been taking junk off the boat
that we've had on the boat for far too
long
banks have rubbish and there's lots of
treasure from the bilge that we're going
to donate or move on come with me down
into the port home forward cabin this
was quite literally half an hour ago
piled with crap you have done a
phenomenal job look at that it even
looks like a cabin now I just managed to
fit all in the forward markets there
yeah it's built up it's all stuffed
behind somewhere but regardless come
with me to the aft cabin my word Robson
birch you've earned yourself a beer

good morning Double Trouble Yacht Club
cruises net is six days a week and is a
great resource for local information and
weather the predominant northeast trade
winds are consistently 20 to 25 knots
however it's not unusual for schools to
spin the wind around and make for a
bumpy couple of hours local shops in
Morrow stocked a wider variety of fresh
veggies and produce compared to Tuvalu
and Kitty baths our plan was to restock
and visit the at atolls for three or
four months before continuing to Vanuatu
[Music]
with shops like in Mentor are expensive
always looks like a good place then
you're it's an American dollars and
New Zealand Australia there's a
comparator basically there's a huge
range of stuff you just got to watch you
use by dates and this stuff is already
out of date when it's on the shelf this
is what anniversary
so we are at the Wellness cafe at the
hospital and we have just ordered a
delicious lunch this lady here has just
served us we've got rice we've got being
Korean we've got soup and it's some corn
bread and it's basically six dollars
each I have no idea this is an adult but
it's very lovely it turned out to be a
farewell song for a colleague a
Marshallese custom we were gonna like it
