The final dose of spring projects before the 2016 splash...

previously on Moneypenny we've got
scripts with some of our safety
equipment and go hands-on some pretty
cool pyrotechnics that we hope we never
had to use and then we've got a great
deal and you dinghy it's a gray where a
miserable Wednesday and but we just
picked up
then you dingy which is very exciting I
can't wait to see if it is more stable
than that other horrible aluminum thing
that we dealt with for a couple of years
but it's very exciting all I've got to
do now is try and find a sailing kit for
it of course the first order of business
was to pick up some new letters make
sure that she got her a nice new name
man that was no fun at all it must be
blowing 50 knots outside it's it's it's
unbelievable she's all done my roller
tray fell over flipped over three times
it's an expensive way to deal with with
bottom paint but you know at least
nothing will grow on the floor this year
that's good and she's all done um you
know he says Donna she's gonna be let's
put it that way everything else is just
gonna have to wait and we'll we'll
tackle it as the year goes on happy
sailing season she is all ready to go
she's as ready as she can be I've run
out of time here's a great tip the
remainder of the bottom paint is taped
to the jack stands and I'll even left
them a little foam brush this yard isn't
the best in the world and I want to make
sure that they paint over the several
thousand jack stands that are currently
holding this boat up there we go
happy sailing season folks there we go
and spring projects all done bottom how
polished as well as we can by hand boot
strokes done fenders are out dock lines
are out I'm out of time that's that's
everything i didn't get everything that
I wanted to get completed done but when
do you ever next time you say she'll be
in should be in the water the downside
is there was a horrible storm last night
and there is now some water inside the
boat and I was under the impression that
the water was supposed to stay outside
the boat so we're going to have to look
at where that's coming from and and you
know fix a couple of leaks everything on
the top of everything on the deck needs
to be read bed anyway so I'm hoping it's
just that I'm hoping it's nothing below
the waterline I guess we'll find out
it's very exciting I just got back from
Florida what are we able to forth today
I was away for a long weekend got back
to an email saying that somebody's got a
wet bottom she went in this morning and
I need to go and check her within 24
hours to make sure she's been its head
up properly so that's what we're gonna
do summer might actually be here
although it's freezing here compared to
Florida but you know she's cold really
gates open let's go see what we can find
out oh love it look who's got a wet bump
here is to not fall off the dock and get
wet penny
here's a his a sorry tale quite sure how
about the base normally on a mooring can
but tied up in a slip here for the
beginning of the season and my old
fenders that were on the boat when I
when I bought the boat couldn't quite
stand up to the spring storm now you'll
also notice the paint that I use to do
my nice new stripes couldn't quite stand
up to the old fenders so you can see my
nice new stripes can I got smeared all
down the side of the boat so there's in
touch up to do they're not the end of
the world we can buff it out and and
just touch up the paint mask it up in
touch of a painful annoying annoying but
not be not the end of the world but we
did get new fenders but they were on
special I got to four ninety nine
dollars i thought that was alright and
so that's good new fenders bigger wider
makes makes a little bit more sense so
my old mage main sheet was was terrible
and it was all pretty much shaped
through sorry i wanted to replace it and
get a new one I've got a four to one
purchase system on my machine it's not
difficult things but I put feeder lines
from it just is the nice new one
complete with and the hardware spliced
in the traveler and a trick is when I
thread the new main sheet through the
blocks on the on the hardware flee for
the mainsheet making sure that I do it
in the right way so that the hardware
ends up in this little place here so the
pin can go through
so yeah we do so there's a trick to
doing this to make sure you don't get
tied in a knot this is going to be
rather the right way so that it doesn't
smell the trick to doing is just keep it
really really flat that way everything
feeds through in the right direction I
taped up the feeder line to the end of
the sheet that is just whipped it
doesn't have any hardware so that way
when I pull that line through all right
end up the line with the splice the end
of the sheet with the splice to be in
the right place for the pin to go into
it and then one at a time I fed the
whole line through purchase one on the
full way purchase now I'm going to cut
down and keeping everything black
haven't flipped anything over and I'll
get myself twisted keeping everything
flat I can now feed the whole line
through purchase tune on the full way
purchase but I'll feed the whole line
i'm just going to put a little bit
because I'll get myself tied in a knot
and then keeping it all nice and simple
and flat or then feed each section you
should have a nicely done you may cheap
they have it there's the end result
being a lineout main sheet in tail down
by the by the jab lots where it should
be splice spiced rice should leave
already up shiny new next time on
Moneypenny with the help of some
wonderful professionals with the winter
I set big greasy mystery that isn't our
engine and then after all those projects
and what seems like an eternally long
winter we unsigned the lines get back
out on the water again
well
