differently in our last episode we
answered your questions regarding the
life raft video the chain plate saga and
what we think about sailing in general
what's going on my honey just put a
little another maintenance issue but
this little place of webbing that this
is one of the actual patents that don't
go on to the slagging of this the
stitching slick and pretty much all the
ones with the patents on them of all let
go and just not just replaced it with a
little bit of booboo cord lock on this
one here which seems to be incredibly
strong and that's that's actually been
there for years so even even though this
was a kite it's just it's a little bit
hard to all it's not that hard but it's
a it's a bit hard to stitch up so it
should only take it five minutes to fix
that up and it should be good right ear
a gorgeous morning
so this is Stonehaven Anchorage
beautiful place to be to do your early
morning maintenance couldn't ask for a
better place
[Music]
so yesterday when we were sailing we
noticed that one of the legs was broken
so just got to give it a bit of love fix
that one up good wing another beautiful
morning here in the whitsundays and we
are out at Stonehaven Anchorage with a
pretty cool little mission for the next
couple of days we've got a bit of a
weather window to get out to a place
called hardy roof and we're going to go
in search of the elusive Hart reef which
is this beautiful heart shape three that
you can see at low tide in these magical
turquoise waters so a bit of a mission
and we'll see if we can get it it's been
blowing in the southeast in the twenties
fifteen to twenty s for the last few
days and it got to be a bit blowing
today but then it's apparently it's
gonna lighten off and be nice and glassy
for us so we'll see if we can catch a
couple of days up there and do some
diving and snorkeling it's a pretty
special place it's about 20 nautical
miles from where we are or seventeen
nautical miles from where we are and
it's early in the morning and the tide
in giving which is what we want so the
tides high at the moment and then the if
tide or sort of help us get out there a
little bit quicker and we'll if we
should get out there about lunch time
which is good because the tide will be
nice and low
the Sun will be high in the sky and we
should be able to see the reef the reef
systems to avoid radio yeah I'll see if
I can show you on the chat plotter okay
so
I'll just show you on our dodgy little
chat plotter we lost our B and G
chartplotter it's off getting serviced
and we've come up with this creation to
hold up a tablet so this is a tablet
with Navionics we're running on this one
and I've used we've put together a few
things from the drone and a few
attachments from from cameras to try and
make a sort of a makeshift stand it
seems to be working so we're currently
located here just across from home and
Island and we are heading out here - OOP
- bait reef and - hardy reef and located
somewhere in here is this little heart
reef so yeah it's fairly exposed and
that's why you want to catch it with
good weather from the east sort of south
east east low light winds and we've got
that and then coming around to the north
so should be good timing for us to pop
out there we've got lots of little reef
areas to avoid so we shall be careful
but very excited morning babe morning oh
yeah Barrier Reef I'm pretty excited
about that
it'll be why bitter and
- I'm sure so this should be good luck
rocking that rocking it okay so we are
having a good snail we're pleased and
we're actually halfway across the
shipping channel and I'll just show you
this ship that's just made a nice little
turn to go across that Stern which was
nice
[Music]
[Music]
and that was a bit nerve-racking haven't
seen a ship in a long time we've been a
long time since we've been out in
shipping lanes so it's a beautiful day
an absolute corker we've probably got
about a meter meter and a half swell
something like that it's a bit themed on
so making that for a bit of a rock and
roll message but we are doing well
sitting it around the 6 knots slow down
a wee bit we were getting 7 what matters
we're coming out of the channel but the
winds thanks to have found backed off to
about 15 and we've got a couple of races
in the main
if it stays low like this we might not
be fair and get paired up again but it's
a beautiful day
beautiful
so we're just coming in through the past
between fate and fire brief there's his
little Marcus a stay with me
so we're just coming into the rave now
and we're just trying to find a place to
anchor and I'm just on mommy watch so
[Music]
yeah we're sitting it around about sort
of five meters depth for the few bodies
to treat serious it's true so my aunt
what a lovely day
