production we couldn't bring these

videos out without you and yeah it's

super cool getting to know you guys it's

a lovely big family that we're growing

back there and yeah you guys are just

unit thank you very much so on to my

second point which is a fairly major

disaster that we've had on board as far

as YouTube world goes and footage a

backup hard drive died a couple of

months ago and we haven't been able to

replace it because we are in a remote

area in the Pacific and you have in our

main hard drive brand-spanking-new main

hard drive is now playing up and it is

holding our footage hostage and yeah we

can't access the last six months the

most incredible last six months of our

footage and bring it to you yeah and so

we have sailed many many miles to get to

a place where we thought we might be

able to find someone who could fix it

unfortunately no one out here has even

seen the kind of hard drive that we

currently have no success no success on

that one I'm afraid yeah we are going to

have to send the hard drive to a

forensic data specialist

and yeah that is as expensive as a

science it's frightening so yeah we have

cried mini itea on board serie yeah best

footage yet yeah this has got to be the

most incredible last six months we have

had the most incredible time we have

stood on Satan's leer and looked into

the belly of the earth and it blew up at

us like crazy we have hung out with

tribes of people who live on remote

islands that hardly ever see contact

with the other out of human world we

have learnt these traditional hunting

techniques where you have swam with

tanks and cannons has been really insane

and we have had the most heartfelt mind

blindly open human experiences yeah it's

been an incredible time the women have

been so excited to bring this to you

because I know that some of you people

never get to experience that what we

have just experienced in the last six

months because you know you just you

either be on a boat and out in these

remote areas that we've just been to it

and yeah we are gutted to say the least

that we can't bring us footage to just

now but well get it they will get it

there we have made the decision not to

put the hard drive in the post because

we actually really value this footage so

much we are going to sail it across an

ocean and hand-deliver it to the

forensic data dude and he's going to

bring it back to us and yeah so we have

a Whizzer window two days time and it's

gonna be about six to eight weeks before

we can get the new series - yeah I'm

really sorry about that Bobby had a

whack for a little vision videos are

going to now trip out of sequence

and I know

it's going to Mac with some of your

brains because there's some people out

there that really need to have our

videos in sequence sorry about that

patience will be your greatest ally here

it's been hours yeah so we have we're

switching to real-time now and there

will be a couple of weeks when there

won't be any footage I'm sorry about

that

there's nothing we can do about that

filming and editing in real time when

there's just one editor it just it just

is a nightmare so please be patient with

us please hang with us know that we have

some very very special products coming

it's also a life where you live in close

quarters with others and where your days

become intricately entwined weather can

depict mood and relationships can be

tested the question for many is how to

navigate these unchartered waters so

we've heard of your comments that we're

like the eternally happy channel and for

the most part we are but we do have our

moments and I've heard from our patrons

that a lot of you only see your

partner's on on night times or on

weekends and you're wondering how on

earth you'd cope as we do living 24

hours of the day 365 days of the year on

a tiny floating home reality is

sometimes cruising in remote locations

sometimes you won't see anybody for

weeks that's it so how do we cope what's

our secret patience patience patience is

a very good skill to have down as a very

patient man I'm a very patient man yeah

I on the other hand have had to develop

the skill when I was a kid actually in

school I used to always get the patience

as a virtual card and it is to drive me

bonkers I just want everything done

right now but yeah I've had to develop

that skill over the years and I highly

recommend it a very useful tool patience

so we both actually agree that the

number one key to any adventurous life

is mindset so developing a can-do

attitude can go a long way towards the

heavy boat life because you know it can

get really tough out here at times yeah

sometimes you just gotta roll with the

punches and focus on the lesson

that's it because reality is is that

Rolly Anchorage's and being constantly

on the move and gear failures can really

niggle at you over the long term gear

failure I know you fail yeah so yes a

positive upbeat attitude when the going

gets tough will go a long way to keeping

morale high so what's our next tip boy

okay so practically speaking upskill

yourself be open to learn you know for

many of you this is a whole new

adventure right so treat it that way

approaches life with curiosity and their

willingness to learn yes we caught up

and said that it's one person's dream

and the other one follows along for love

get on board just love it

you know my love

if you don't know how to learn to drive

the tender it'll give you confidence

and freedom

look imagine if your partner had all the

skills but they were down with

seasickness or they had a broken line'

or heaven forbid they were lost

overboard now these aren't odd

situations they do happen so would you

know how to get yourself and your boat

back to shore safely so share the

responsibility learn basic navigation

learn how to set the sails take the helm

learn how to control the boat in all

kinds of weather and learn how to

operate the VHS copy that rubber ducky

the eagle is on its way over yes it

often takes the pressure off when both

of you are capable and makes them much

happier sailing Radio I better get a

wiggle on come on honey

so let's talk about fear it can be a

powerful emotion for some people right

but I

that you can control fear through action

so if there's something that freaks you

out about being on board push your

boundaries and learn about it and that

way you can D power that fear emotion it

could be the bite healing you know you

can detail the mind put a roof in and

it'll certainly make for much more

silence that's it so work through these

things practically on board if you're

both confident in your boat handling

skills it'll make for much happier

sailing and less strain on the

relationship

wondering how you gonna get with kids on

board that's it

are they gonna drive you buggers it's

possible we have made a lot of kids

boats and they all seem to hang together

which is really cool so the kids get to

interact with each other and they get to

do lots of projects and lots of cool

stuff together it's a really good life

for them you know some kids that we've

met are really avid photographers some

are really science-based surfing and

they all get to hang together which is

really neat

so yeah our website has got some citizen

science projects on it that they could

get involved in and you know you can

give them responsibilities on board and

there's always going to the beach and

doing some shell collecting yeah so some

of the most well-rounded kids that we've

met are those who hooked on board

awesome life the kids they'll grow and

expand other ways that you've never

dreamed of remember to take time off the

boat for us it's time

that fills the soul
