La Rochelle is definitely a sailing town
they have every kind of boat you'd
imagine from old to new to race boats
and here we found some traditional cargo
transportation
[Music]
some kind of a sailing cargo ship came
in we think from the Caribbean bringing
rum we are not sure
there are two yacht clubs in La Rochelle
the classic Yacht Club which was we
never found that open well we were there
and there's a modern sailing school in
Yacht Club
this is the second department we stayed
in as we had to extend our stay a little
longer than we thought

number 45 left it up with lagoon 45 and
climb on board and take our first look
around

then you spent several days reading on
whether windows a few minor as warranty
work etc we also had to make a trip to
Mojave to the port where our pallet was
transported to because our pallet was
being held in customs we had to apply
for and receive in person a temporary
importation permit before the pallet
would be released
while we were in La Rochelle we met our
good friends
Annie Dyke and Phillip Warren also from
Pensacola Annie Dyke has written several
books about sailing and they were
helping some friends relocate her
brand-new Lagoon 42 from LA from La
Rochelle out to the Virgin Islands they
actually left just a little head of us

additional C trials but everything
