#antifoul #Catamaran #boatwork In this episode, we had the opportunity to help our friends out by removing the old antifoul and slapping some new paint on their catamaran named Bagpuss. here we are back on the yard and we're

doing some anti-fowling

well yeah a lot his first time

exciting i did about 26 boats last year

a year and a half ago

with our moto hulls this is a catman so

it's twice the work

um but it's really cool so first we do

is uh scraping

and what's the scraping for them the

particles barnacles are

trying to form like here and here yeah

we first bring those off

because it's otherwise the grinding

paper will uh destroy it

yeah otherwise you clot up the uh the

sandpaper and

i'm gonna use a this is a um

60 grid first and we've got 80 grits as

well

we need it and uh well basically just

sand it down um not all the way to the

fiberglass of course but just a quick

sand because it's going to be primer as

well before it's going to be anti-fouled

so that's what we're doing keep your bow

stayed

it's an underwater hull paint also known

as a bottom paint

and the founding is used for many boats

of all shapes and sizes

for metal boats it's also a protection

against corrosion

you also improve the flow of water past

the hull of a fishing vessel

or increase its performance on cruising

yachts

and we found a boat this is mrs bappus

she is a catamaran obviously

and uh it's a lagoon 380. good thing

about catamaran is

they have look at the draft so they can

go in really really shallow waters so

imagine

the water level will be here then it's

about another meter or so

before you hit the ground so that's a

very good plus side of a catamaran

and these are escape patches

so um if there's a scenario that the

catamaran

flips upside down then this is your way

out

this is one of the best features about

the cat

it's called a trampoline so um

it's really good for chilling out

let's have a look inside we haven't
