the marina here at the park s 25 foot

slips for $26 a day a few 50 foot slips

for $52 and they also have more involves

out in largo sound for $18 a day all

come with full usage of the park

they have a lot of day visitors too and

it's $10 to use the boat ramp here if

you're not staying at the marina or

campsites they charge four dollars per

car that's if you're one person if you

two to eight people it's eight bucks and

then a couple dollars for each

additional passengers we've taken a day

it did rain earlier chase we've got the

extra boost but rain water but it kept

itself

the marina was pretty light on overnight

guests so we get a chance to choose our

slab and as per usual when we're at a

marina we try to tuck ourselves away

from the more crowded areas for a bit

more privacy it usually means we're

farther away from the facilities but for

us it's worth it

if it is let's say they have scuba gear

it's a real dive this is enough see him

safe zone

see anything you want tell us fight it

yeah so spot a drum even though he

doesn't have spice this is a way to if

you want the park all to yourself you

have to go on a walk in the rain we

thought we'd take a break from all the

mosquitoes and noseeums turns out they

bite and the rain too

glass bottom boat snorkeling tourists

kayaks oh we can't go there no wet

clothes so you can see they make a kayak

full of money every day we'll give them

some will support the fog they rent

paddle boards canoes and kayaks and a

double kayak is $17 an hour or if you

want to go a bit longer less than four

hours is $45 and over for is 55

they'll give you an app with a couple of

courses that you can choose from and we

took the more difficult one but I would

say that really pretty much anyone can

manage it maybe not kids in a single

kayak because there is some faster boat

traffic on that particular path there

were warned that boats will not slow

down for you so you need to get across

here pretty fast

honestly I didn't think kayaking the

mangroves would be that interesting or

different from what we do on our own

boat the McGregor has such a shallow

draft we can get up close to a lot of

places but I could have spent all day

out there exploring it was so peaceful

and beautiful and it really has been one

of the most fun experiences we've had I

know it's not a crazy adventure but it's

really great and it's actually made us

consider getting our own kayak

how many beaches have a cannon where

park is an alligator you know now all

those specifications the differences

between a perfect island oh they're

usually bigger but look at this one is

it that might differentiate them too

I know you grew up with Gators but you

don't know I actually think I actually

caught one just like bathroom facilities

with showers and they have concessions

picnic areas we can also rent masks and

fins and other equipment that you can

use on there too beaches the beaches

have sand but they're more of that rocky

sand so make sure you bring something

comfortable to sit on then they have a

few areas that are kind of tucked away

beautiful rocks where you can spend some

time taking some pictures

there's a quirk fish cleaning a doctor

fish he came up to London good clean

reef and everybody cleans their shells

we made our way down to Adams

Hut it's a man-made canal that was

started back in the 50s and took a

couple of decades to complete and it has

walls at a 15 feet high and they're made

of solid fossilized coral for beautiful

homes the line the canal it's about a

half a mile long and it connects largos

down to Blackwater Sound

[Music]

we cruise Blackwater Sound where there

are several hotels and restaurants lined

the waterfront and host an annual New

Year's Eve fireworks show you can choose

to watch it from the shore the

restaurants have parties dinners and

music but of course we wanted to watch

the fireworks from our boat we didn't

know exactly where to anchor to get the

best view and it turned out that barge

parked itself within swimming distance

to us which we decided later was a

little too close
