thanks again for stopping by
in the last video we started our tour of
beaufort
we had a good time but everyone got
pretty exhausted with the little bit of
cat
refitting that we did but really the
excitement that we had out on the coast
[Music]
we got everything back on track and took
a ride down the very
beautiful but very busy taylor's creek
and now we're finally making our way out
to the cape lookout lighthouse
[Music]
[Applause]
[Music]
the swell's coming in so that stacks the
waves up
yeah i thought i thought what we were
experiencing with the boat wave because
of all the boats
but it wasn't it was the same we had big
bugs next to us so i thought
that's
[Music]
[Applause]
you know we're getting jerked around so
hard it pulled the
secure thing off so i just wrapped it
around the cleat
yeah we lost about uh 30 feet of chain
so that's what's right because the
sandbar would tie and
turn against each other well
my gosh did you snap into action
i mean you freaking lost the anchor lost
30 feet of chain
ran to the front of the boat left me at
the wheel
thank you goodness i know
what to do ish well i guess i know what
to do but it's still scary
but um you pulled the anchor back up and
then you ran
and then you ran back in in four foot
waves while i'm driving to
jump back at the wheel and you went
through all this crap in the cockpit
this is another thing i can't believe we
left with all of this like this
we shouldn't have done that i thought we
were going on a river tour
i know i know that was well we just need
to be
we just need to be prepared
every single time you know especially if
we've not been to a place before that
was
that was unlucky and also stupid
without without any notice three times
it got
really bad really quickly that's our
third time i think
well everybody here is hauling out like
they know exactly what to do well they
do this
probably every time other than the
catamaran we are the only
sailing vessel out here i have not seen
any other sail have you well that's a
pretty boat
but i swear everybody's staring at us
they look they're looking at us like
what the hell are they doing here
oh look it's a sailboat it looks like um
you know like uh sesame street or
whatever which one of these does not
belong
oh my gosh that sucked
but thank goodness knock on wood
we got through that at least now let's
see what's next
the shows around this area are no joke
we thought we would have an
easy ride out to the lighthouse point in
the right direction and just
hall tush but obviously we got into a
little trouble
fortunately a little later on uh
one of the fairies passed us and we
thought hey let's
follow them out in this open water here
and finally a couple hours later made it
out to the lighthouse
our view
her favorite thing
we finally made it out to the lighthouse
with one super happy dog in tow
and one safely resting on the button
okay on to the lighthouse
come on scout we have something to see
[Music]
[Music]
[Music]
with such a cool look to the lighthouse
of course we took the opportunity to
take some pictures
[Music]
you can climb to the top from mid-may
through mid-september
it's 163 feet tall and offers
spectacular views
[Music]
the original lighthouse was built in
1812 but proved to be too short
the lookout shoals areas nicknamed the
horrible headlands
so in 1859 this new one was erected
the first home or keepers quarters as
they call it was built in 1812 when the
first lighthouse was erected
but there were three lighthouse keepers
and they wanted to have their families
live with them
so in 1873 they built an additional
house
and that's the one that still stands
today that you can take a tour through
and look at their little museum
see what their view was
hot diggity scout i didn't know you were
going to be
allowed to come inside
oh goodness what is this this doesn't
look good
oh gosh yeah look
that was us earlier today
oh you can wash the sand off your feet
that's nice oh this is nice and cold
um okay
they have well-maintained boardwalks all
around the area so that you can see both
sides of the island
well it took us a long time to find this
place because it didn't turn on the
light
[Music]
they even allowed camping here with no
permit
there's swimming surfing fishing
clamming crabbing
even campfires on the beach so there's a
ton of stuff to do around here
and it's a truly beautiful area for your
family or
for just the two of you
well we thank all of y'all for watching
till the end of this video for now we've
got to bail but we look forward to
bringing you some beautiful beach views
next time

Thank you for the kind and gracious words. I never wrote anything over a sentence or two, till I found your channels. I was so lucky, to somehow find your YT page Sailing and Fun. Right away I was drawn to your unique style, you are such a pleasure to watch, and in the first YT vid of yours I watched, I saw the versatility of your Mac. I just had to write a comment to it, and your kind replies, then more comments, more replies.... Somewhere along the way I almost got to the point where I could write a coherent sentence. It might only take two or three pages of writing to find 1 actual readable sentence in it. ?. I, of course, love to follow you on YT, and support YOU on Patreon. And on Vimeo, well, what can I say but, WOW!. Your videos filled me with joy, and that led to more and more writing. Your videos moved me in a way that was new to me, giving me the desire to describe what I see and how it makes, no, how it allows me to feel. Turning me from a 1 or 2 word non talker, into a sometimes, true motormouth. I guarantee, that is a word I would have never thought could ever be said of me.
