and back
and again
one more time
again
Joe
What are we doing?
We are trying to get the motor started
So this thing will work
But it was working wasn't it?
Yah but then it broke!
Can we just try to start it real quick?
You got to get the waterline
up to the intake
This lens is so fun
Nothing
So let's see if the battery has a charge
12 volts
What's wrong with it?
Maybe you aren't pushing the
button hard enough
Maybe you're just not
doing it right Doug
Maybe we don't know how this works
Alright ready?
Sure go
You going to kill us?
I've gotcha brother!
It is me Hermano
Alright so I think we somehow
have to get to this
Just pull the fricken thing
What?
The manual starter
Hi! That's an engine!
Use those muscles
It's kinda gunky
Joe
Huh?
What's the meaning of life?
42
Oh, I don't want my face distorted
Doug got the motor started
And we thought while we are at it,
might as well change the spark plugs
so we took them out
took them to the auto shop.
They said they were fouled
It ran the motor though so I'm not
exactly sure what replacing them will do
but four dollars so I might as well
Alright Doug, get her started
Here we go
go
All the way as fast as you can
Alright, let's get the mast clean
While Doug's out of town
I decided to address a few
safety issues with my boat
Well Jason, sorry to leave you
with all the boat repairs
but I really have to go to work
Fiji and New Zealand. It's
going to be rough.
But hey, Jess gets to come too
Jason we just met a sailor.
This guy back here.
While we were standing in line, these
guys right behind us were
talking about sailing and I
thought that was pretty funny
So we got to talking and I guess our
boat is the same model boat they had
Whenever they were kids,
like their family boat
so we got to Aukland and it was kinda
crazy because I didn't know it was
like a big sailing place
Everybody owns a boat. I think they said
2/3 of the families there all
own their own boat
And the harbor is gigantic.
I mean it's just like...
There's marinas everywhere
There's boats sailing all over the place
Anyway, I think we should totally find a
way to cross over and go to New Zealand
Because that place looks pretty amazing
Moana
Moana started her own place
Kinda like she stopped island hopping
Anyway, have fun with all the repairs.
Wish I could be there.
The first one being
When we got our boat home after putting
it on the water for the first time
as I was backing it into the driveway
my spare wheel fell out
That's not so good. If that would have
happened on the highway that would
have been pretty terrible
Got some bolts to secure it to the boat
So that way it won't fall off on us
Alright we're not sure what bolts to
put on here so John is unscrewing
one to see what it looks like.
We just finished, well one side of
putting this trim stuff on
We got some new bolts and nuts in it.
Right now we're working on this corner
Which is going to be a little hard
because right here it's a bit bent and
the holes don't exactly line up with
these holes in the metal
On the way to go to the Hobbiton set
I wanted to test my drone before I got
in there to see if I could fly it.
and I wrecked it.
So I guess no sailing drone footage.
It was weird on this trip, we had a
bunch of water themed places we were
going to
We got to Milford Sound
and oh. my. gosh.
the whole ride there there was like a
hundred waterfalls just coming down
everywhere.
but Milford Sound is this really amazing
like just cliff sites everywhere
and then you get to the end of it
and it goes right out into the ocean so
you could just sail into Milford Sound
and after that we went to Fiji and once
again we're doing boat themed activities
We went on this gigantic catamaran. I
mean it's the biggest catamaran I've
ever seen.
Bula!
I love it!
Went to a little private island and it
was pretty fun playing and it was just
kinda
nice thinking about what it will be
like with our families on all these
little islands we stop at.
It also gave me some ideas of some toys
we are going to need to get.
It was a lot of fun
I also have never been snorkeling before
I just got back and this is what you
have me doing?
Oh, it's like broke in there
Ow
How in the world are you supposed to get
that off?
I can't even get my fat hand up there
I think you have to take this steering
wheel off
Which one are you doing first? Just
start spinning and I'll...
That one closest to you
Oh you can see them up there too?
Yah, there's screws
Ginormous screws. My screwdriver is too
tiny for it.
I'll cut that out too
Doug what are you doing?
I'm unbolting this stupid thing
What are you unbolting?
I don't know, what is the thing called?
A steering wheel
You going to tell me why?
because it broken. it broken bad.
We're doing this to sail.
We're doing this to sail.
We're doing this to sail.
It's nice to be able to use a different
hand to unscrew it.
Ok, we're going to remove the wheel
Boom! Yah!
Alright so we gotta to replace the line
in this rolling furler
but we gotta figure out first how to
get it removed because I can't turn it.
Having trouble with the rolling furler
earlier but Doug got out here and just
sorta spun it.
So it's way easier than I thought it
was going to be to get this thing fixed.
That means we have everything done
that we need to go sailing.
