Oh however on Tony this is s feat Apache
SV if if you're not too clear on these
acronyms sailing vessel so she is not
finished she will have a full keel and
two masts should be a schooner rig drunk
week schooner when we're finished her
and this is the video blog of the build
of this boat we're now somewhat a year
and nine months or so into the build and
recording owl process yes a row and a
stake and this week's been all about
these two deck boxes either side
starboard sides looking quite good
portside in construction you've seen a
bit of that but one other thing we did
this week which we'll just break on the
deck boxes for a moment and show you
something different we took an outing
out last Sunday afternoon an outing out
we went up to the river elbe where there
is a big old boat yard we're looking at
a potential launch site for the Barbican
and I think we looked and I think we
found that the launch site from the boat
which is quite exciting we went in there
we were invited in by till whose watch
watches these videos had seen some of
these videos have contacted us he came
down a couple of weeks ago and visited
to patch yeah and they look around and I
so nice we ran up to him at his boat
yard he let us in first thing you see is
an enormous boat shed whole thing
enormous from the outside
Wow look at the size of that thing
we went in there
it didn't look much smaller from the
inside very impressive
officer this time of year not too many
boats in there because they've only only
in the water at this time of year but in
there were two big 32 ton cranes that
are fixed in there in the boat shed in
the whole boat standing around some from
the German authorities there the Vasa
ship farts and which is the German an
authority that keeps an eye on waterways
yeah plenty room in there and these
cranes in the hall also could lift up
the boats plenty of height in there to
lift them up very high and then at the
far end of the hall at the river end
they've got a pool inside the hall lower
the boat down into that pool big door
that opens up and our ego and the place
is stood right on the the confluence of
the the Lubich Elbe canal or Elbe Lubeck
canal which runs between the river Elbe
and the Baltic Sea and where that flows
into the river Elbe which obviously goes
out to the North Sea in one direction or
up to Prague various other cities in the
other direction so major what the way
big river took a bit of a shot of the
river
and looks really good for us to launch
from so that's where we're planning to
get up in not too far took us about 25
minutes I think to drive up there from
here I'm quite accessible unless you've
got the trucking cost to get to fatiha
up there accessible for us

yeah we're looking here at the port side
deck box under construction of C and
that the fan of curtain in a couple of
holes in the boat this week which is
always a sort of unnerving task one here
that the de tank goes in that's a
supplies diesel for the diesel stove and
this hole here is just going to be a
cupboard through access through the
galley into into this area for plates
and cups and whatever so under
construction looking good it will match
the other side if you just pound a
connoisseur and show that Karen look a
bit like that when it's done

yeah picked up this beautiful German
army diesel tank or fuel tank actually
smells like I said petrol no but it'll
be fine for these or it's stainless even
though it's been painted in this
delightful green color stainless tank
and a couple of outlets on it so that's
going in through this hole here going in
for our de tank for our diesel stove
just a gravity feed down to the diesel
stove so it's mounted there and the
stove will be down in the galley
obviously pipe work run through a water
trap and a filter and straight down to
the stove for the gravity feed that'll
be nice not too expensive good solid
stainless tank to the job hard to find
that de tank at a reasonable price very
few of them available here and the ones
that are made by the stove manufacturer
is a silly money for a small stainless
tank when this one say ex German army
army surplus reasonable price like it
well that's it for this weekend you need
to get on get a bit of work done so
thanks for watching give us your thumbs
up subscribe and see you next time
