a junk wreaked schooner plywood and will

be a sailboat as I'm saying we're in the

process of building air and these are

the video logs video blog of the process

of this build those of you have thought

following and keeping an eye on what we

do or know that we didn't put a video

out last week busy week and we ended up

going away for the weekend as well one

thing another so we're back here now

back on the build getting on with it and

we're gonna start this week with you

remember we were put in these black

locust rails on the deck and the first

thing we did this week was to get the

second one of these routers in positions

here they're fixed on glued on screwed

up for underneath

and it also I said we seem to have a

sure

yes so we're in the room where I do the

video editing there we go I've got plans

up on a drawing board or actually a

painting easel with a bit of plywood on

it so the bit of the plans that I'm

working on or leaving at that time I've

clipped up there to look at another

thing I've got in here which is very

exciting to tell you about is the sv2

patio t-shirts very nice the same logos

as are on the challenge coin of course

quite tastefully done nice summery

colors so we've got this light blue

we've got a very bright and cheerful

orange very good red color the blue

we've seen a sunny yellow and this sort

of textured gray color to choose from

and sizes of X L or L offshoots Ron as

you can imagine being a fairly small

youtube channel and small project

altogether we haven't had many other

he's a mate

so there are rare right up at the moment

but there are on sale and I've put a

shop section on my website sv - patio

comm shop section on that where these

lovely t-shirts can be purchased the

price is including post and packing so

there will be you know if you go to

checkout there's no extras for post and

packing it's all included in the one

price and the price is the same as

another leading sailing channel yeah

a scarlet nurse gonna have to come

towards you a little bit and overhang a

bit as it was ready but then you can't

this end and tricks the first screw yes

so what these rails did the two rails

one either side there they were what

they do is that they're major structural

elements for the deck and they and they

really really solid up the deck and it

made quite an impressive difference

actually when we fitted him so that

enabled a couple of things a couple of

things first thing was it enabled me to

be able to cut out this beam that was

running through here

and then could tidy up these fly ages

there will be a bit of trim covering up

that into grain of the ply both sides

with that all looks very tired and we've

got this opening hat here now

and you see now when I stand in here

we've got significant Headroom up to

there the sliding hatch in fact will be

a little bit higher than that and we'll

Hut will slide up into it into a cover

at this end so there will be in this

area that'd be quite a lot of headroom

it's very nice feels good then the next

thing we did was was to laminate in this

piece here for the end of where the

sliding hatch opens up and I'll use the

form of the deck to laminate that in

position at the moment is four layers of

wood it will be still a couple more but

that's that's laminated in position for

that cross being there and then the

whole thing really does feel very solid

it makes this main beam very strong

yeah and the other thing that this is

these thick rails did or stringers

perhaps a more technical word for them

the deck stringers did was that as I say

they reinforce that day made it really

strong and that enabled me to cut some

of this webbing some of this strap here

away so I cut that back to a thinner

smoother curve these two in fact given

us significantly more more room in the

galley area so that's also nice as I

opened up that area so it's feeling much

more roomy in this vicinity now and yeah

yeah then the last thing we've got done

this week was to put these top parts of

the turret and then from in the way or

not these top parts of the tow rail on

both sides and as you see they've got

gaps between them and those gaps serve

various purposes the wider ones aware a

stanchion comes in like that for example

with a bit of water drawing the gg

either side and the narrow ones are just

just pure scuppers so it's planned for

two stanchions each side and I say some

scuppers

you remember from a weaker

this rail around the outside of that of

the coach roof side there it's

approximately speaking five centimeters

to inches wide and two centimeters or

three-quarters an inch thick

all the way around and these the same

dimensions come on the top and then when

it's all planed up that was planed up

flush with the deck and these edges are

planed up flush with that and all as the

appearance have been one piece of black

locust wood on there and their tour
