Sailing out of Alor Island was bitter sweet as we'd had such a great time there. We were sent off by a huge pod of dolphins and had a very calm overnight sail to our next spot. Now this place is not in any guide books and I hadn't seen any other boats going there but a local guy called Ridwan had sent me a few pictures and told me it was a very beautiful place. We arrived just after sunrise and saw right away that we'd found something special. Anchoring in 14m of water with a submerged sand island a few meters off our stern we truly had found a little piece of paradise. This video is only 12min long but we spent nearly a week here. No villages nearby, no sounds other than nature, just true bliss.
Enjoy this one guys.

good morning

hmm
[Music]
so after an amazing two weeks exploring
allure island we hoisted the anchor and
set off for our next destination
it was an easy 100 mile journey
which we decided to do overnight uh it's
just cooler and easier
to sail at night sometimes and also
arriving in the
early morning in a new location is
better than trying to
stress and arrive in the evening there's
so many volcanoes around this area
and we just passed a few great ones but
a real amazing one was uh just on sunset
we passed this great volcano
so beautiful the sun going down right
behind the peak
it was a real cool end to the day
[Music]
bye bye
another day finished
we arrived at the new anchorage uh just
on sunrise and
wow what an amazing amazing place we got
told this place actually by a local guy
called ridwan
he'd been contacting me on facebook and
and said you gotta go you gotta go you
gotta go
and it wasn't in the guidebooks it
wasn't anywhere but we just trusted him
and
and man so happy thanks redwan for for
giving us this spot
enjoy
how incredible is this place though look
at this
huge volcano in the background sandbar
just tide going out another hour and
this will be dry
the alien over here just you can just
swim over to the sandbar
pull the dinghy up that's a big lagoon
all out here that goes nearly dry
in the uh low tide just enough to make a
perfect mirror
this place is incredible it's so
incredible i'm not even gonna tell you
where it is
this is uh somewhere that i hope
never gets super super well known
the world needs places like this to
remain
anonymous
so we've climbed up on this tiny little
island beside where we're anchored
no idea where it's called but they've
burned it off so it's a super moon
landscape but all around as you can see
is pretty incredible with the
volcano in the background wow
just a little while or a big while
it's a big one it's a big well yeah
what's cool about this place are the
bats i don't know anything about bats
if any of you out there know what sort
of bats these would be we're thinking
fruit bats or flying foxes but
probably just normal fruit bets pretty
incredible to see them up that
close um i'm not sure how upset they got
with me flying the drone around
but i only flew for a few minutes just
to get some footage and then
they settle down again pretty quickly
afterwards and then after dark they're
all just like millions of them all just
take off the whole sky is full of them
pretty incredible to witness this
but yeah this whole surroundings is just
incredible here

awesome
did
go
we've had an amazing stay in in the
place that shall remain nameless
and we are now leaving i'll show you
pulling up the anchor marie's going to
drive the boat forward as i pull in the
anchor
that's the wind is pushing us back off
the anchor obviously
okay let's go the wind is pretty strong
today
it's over 20 knots
24.5 knots right now and we're not in
the best spot
as you can see right behind us is the
the sandbar and we haven't moved but i'm
not
that confident and we've been here long
enough and it's a good day to sail to
our next spot it's about
35 miles to our next place so we're
going to cruise
out of here and go there well we're
underway now
just to head sail out uh the wind has
already died but that's indonesia
sailing it's it's like there's a sixth
sense
here as soon as you put a sail up the
wind just dies every time or all goes
straight
on the nose you know straight in front
of you but it's a very very beautiful
country as you've seen in this video
pretty magical place thanks for watching
i'm not even gonna say i hope you
enjoyed that i'm sure you enjoyed that
because
yeah how could you not it was amazing
here's a little slideshow to finish it
off
some pretty nice drone shots from up
there uh
marie modelling in the sand doing some
handstands etc
join us next week for i don't know what
yet
but it will be something pretty cool and
uh yeah once again thanks to the patrons
very very cool i say it every week
actually you're probably sick of hearing
it but it really does mean a lot to us
and uh it puts the food on our plates
and uh
the diesel in the tanks right now it's
our income so um
thanks for the continued support bye-bye
