Sailing west along the top of Flores Island took us to yet another beautiful island. The 17 Islands National Park is pretty remote and not very many tourists...

Good morning everyone. So we arrived
yesterday in 17 islands national park
and we spent the night just at this island.
Pretty beautiful but today we are the two in
the dinghy just to explore the other islands and
we discover a really amazing place like paradise
place with beautiful beach a lot of shells and
beautiful things to collect on the beach.
Super protected, the water is turquoise so we decide
to move and try to anchor close to this island.
So we pulled the anchor up we've just got
the head sail up and we're just drifting
basically down here and we're gonna anchor
up in probably the world's most perfect island.
yes we are there
i'm gonna swim in the turquoise
water before the sunset
I'm pretty close to the island now but it shelves
off quite fast here on the point so we have to
anchor in pretty close and maybe i'll put a stern
rope in to tie it off on a on a tree or something.
We're still 28 metres here and we're pretty close
but uh we'll find something. Yeah it's a pretty
epic spot though i can't wait to go explore
this place and show you guys what's going on.
You might have to reverse the boat over this way.
So after a bit of an ordeal, I need to
have more floating rope this
sinking rope's not very good but we've got
it tied around the concrete mast over there
and we've got the anchor out the front about
50 meters out. So I'm just slowly pulling
the boat back into the beach till we get
to a good depth and then I will adjust
the tension with the anchor maybe pull a
bit of chain in to tighten this up and we should
be good and we'll be just walk straight off the
boat into the beach. We're in 10 meters right here.
This is perfect huh? At the moment the wind's
holding us off by the rope it's only if the
wind comes from this way we'll need the
anchor to stop us going on the beach.
So you found some treasures today? Yeah I spent
the afternoon to collect things on the beach
and i really want to say i didn't
kill any of them! They were
already dry in the middle of the beach,
the starfish and i found some spiky balls i don't
know the name in english like it's the bone inside
and Sand Dollars. I think it's kind of
sand dollars, really the same inside but the drawing
on the top is a bit different. That's my favourite
one like we found really a lot of sand dollars in
all indonesia but this one is clearly the most
beautiful I ever found, he has some dots and some
blue reflection, I really like it. And this
other camouflage one? this one? Oh this one,
yeah like a snakeskin, I think it's a spiky ball
too but different kind of this ones. Yeah super beautiful.
I'm super sad they are all dry and dead
they just like stay stuck on the beach at the low tide.
Feels like we sort of found paradise a little
bit. As you can see there are some structures
and things here, it's obvious tourists
do come here but i'm not sure if it's just before covid times.
They look like they've been
derelict longer than four months.
There's the odd boat that pulls up here in the mornings and brings some local people here
and they hang out on the beach but um other
than that we're pretty much well other than that
we're totally alone we've been here what three days. But unfortunately we have to leave.
This could be a place you could
hang out for a couple of weeks and really just
chill come down, there's no water here but apart
from that you could really just stay here for
a while but i've got an eye infection that
I've had for 10 days now. I've had these eye
infections before it's something I deal with
every now and again and i do have medicine
on board for it but it hasn't been effective
this time so i'm not sure if it's because it's,
it might be a couple of years out of date now
i can't remember when i got it last.
The first couple days it seemed to be working and then
it just hasn't got better and it's getting worse
again and it's really on my eyeball itself you
know, not around the eye. The nearest hospital is
three days sail away and uh yeah we're gonna leave
tomorrow, just because I feel like it's
getting worse and i don't want to do any damage to
my eye, it's my camera eye too so not too stoked to
do any damage there. Unfortunately we have to
leave this place otherwise we'd probably be here
for a little bit longer. Anyway, hope you enjoyed
the the views, hard to make a boo-boo of this
place it's pretty photogenic and the
sun sets right there and the sun rises
right there and we get amazing light and Marie's
got treasure hunting to do forever.
Snorkelling's been pretty good it's like the coral's pretty good
but we've had a bit of wind in the last couple of
days so the water's not super super clear but it's been cool and there's birds around.
Crazy beautiful place. Anyway hope you enjoyed
that. Thanks again Patrons you guys are all legends
couldn't do without you right now, really really
appreciate all the support and if any of you
would like to become a patron or interested
to know more about it, there's a link in the
descriptions below. Yeah we'd definitely welcome
anyone on board who who appreciates what we do,
the making of these videos and the journey
that we're on here.
Anyway, see you next week, bye-bye
